One of my favorite places to go is Columbus, Ohio. I go there with my wife a couple times a year. What I love about Columbus the mist is the German village. The architecture, the food, the shopping, the people…. for a beer elitist like me, its hard to beat the selection at Schmidt’s Sausage Haus. I can’t wait to go back to visit. We have not gone to COSI on our adventures there so maybe that will be in the cards. I’m burned out and need to get away for a couple days soon.
With the looming return of The Walking Dead, I am thinking about zombies today. I was always a bigger fan of the slow zombies rather than the faster than a Marathon runner ravenous zombies. My favorite zombie movies are George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead and Lucio Fulci’s “Zombie”. I like seeing hordes of slow zombies surround a house or a building filled with survivors. There is more thought and strategy involved. This is why I love the walking dead so much. Its like an updated dawn of the dead. Slow, flesh eating zombies. You know there is never an end to the numbers. When there is no more room in hell the dead will walk the earth! I’m pumped! Braaaaiiiinnnnsssss!!!
At the movie theater the other day I saw a poster for Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. I don’t know if it is a reboot or what… but I love the franchise. The other night I watched part of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. As a child it was one of my favorite horror movies. Bill Moseley is so funny in it and Dennis Hopper showed why he is the man. RIP Lefty.
Why are good werewolf movies so few and far in between? In the seventies and eighties there were gems such as werewolves on wheels, the howling, wolfen, and American werewolf in London… I think it’s about time for a new kick ass werewolf movie!
